Uses
- Used with CAT5 cables to build office or home network
- Compatible with both 10Mbps & 100Mbps networks
- 100Mbps networks are by far the most common networks in use today
Advantages
- Is compatible with 10/100 networks
- 5 ports will suffice a lot of home or possibly small office users
- It is an unmanaged network switch, which is handier for the un-technically minded
- Low energy usage
- Is a desktop mounted network switch so no need to buy a network racking system
Disadvantages
- 5 ports may be too few for some folks needs, in that case look at our 8 or 16 port switches
- A gigabit network switch would be faster but that means the extra expense of different hardware and cabling
